MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a campaign to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.
Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel presently take advantage of a 20p differential however that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a number of small companies in Cornwall presently generate income from used cooking oil".
He included: "In order to be able to get this sort of industry going it does require simply a bit of lift which can be found in the form of tax inevitable."
Biodiesel is a blend of traditional diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
