A BOINC server consists of the following components:

<li> Database server
|
|
<li> Scheduling server(s)
|
|
<li> Web server(s)
|
|
<li> Data server(s)
|
|
</ul>
|
|
These components may all run on a single host, or on separate hosts.
|
|
Some of them, as indicated, may be replicated.
|
|
